What time did we film?
The time of day we decide to film makes a great difference on the atmosphere that can be created within the trailer. For example the most effective way to create a scary and eerie atmosphere, would be to film at night as that would make the lighting ideal as it would be dark which gives off a mysterious effect. Along with this ,as it is night, less people will be out and about therefore when filming, not only will there be less people to come past when filming, but there will also be less diegetic background noises such as cars passing. These factors will have an impact on how the audience would react to the trailer and by filming in the night it would put them on edge.
In spite of the better effects that filming in the night would provide, being limited with our time and not being able to get to places late at night meant we have had to film our trailer in the daytime however with editing we will make the trailer appear darker than it actually was which allows us to create the same scary atmosphere that we would have made had we filmed at night and in the dark. In spite of this we also know that it is possible to continue to make a clip that was filmed in bright conditions effective as we have researched other trailers and found the Blair Witch Project. This trailer is very similar to ours as they are filming in a forest during the day however they have managed to make it look scary after post production.

The picture above shows the sort of settings we filmed in which, although it is not as clear on the picture, are the same sort of settings that are used in the Blair Witch Project (below).
