Stuart M Kaminsky was a film professor from America who also specialised in mystery writing. He was born on the 29th September 1934 in Chicago in Illinois and died on the 9th of October 2009 at the age of 75. Some examples of his projects he has worked on are:
Once Upon a Time in America (1984)
Enemy Territory (1987)
Hidden Fears (1993)
His theory was heavily based on the murder weapons used in horrors and stated that when a murder takes place in a horror the weapon should be a sharp object much as a knife as this provides the goriest and bloodiest death whereas if another weapon was to be used then it would not have the same effect on the audience as it would not be as scary. For example if a gun is used as the murder weapon then it will be a relatively quick and bloodless death and is not often associated with horror films whereas the sharp objects can provide a murder cene that will scare an audience.
